AFC Toronto has signed 22-year-old defender Sonia Walk, a Toronto native, to their Northern Super League team.
Walk returns home after playing for Boston College, overcoming two major surgeries to pursue her professional soccer career.
She has a strong background in Canadian soccer, including playing for North Toronto Soccer Club, the National Development Centre (Ontario), and Canadian youth national teams.
Walk expressed excitement about playing for head coach Marko Milanovic and sporting director Billy Wilson again, citing their encouragement in her return-to-play journey.
She also looks forward to playing at BMO Field for the home opener against the Montreal Roses on April 19th.
Walk has represented Canada at the U-15, U-17, and U-20 levels, including appearances at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
