The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled forward Michael Pezzetta from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
This move comes amidst an eight-game losing streak for the Leafs.
Pezzetta, a Toronto native, signed a two-year contract with the Leafs last summer after previously playing for the Canadiens organization.
He has four goals and ten points in 37 games with the Marlies this season.
Pezzetta aims to bring physicality and defensive responsibility to the Leafs lineup.
The Leafs hope Pezzetta can impress enough to earn a spot on the roster next season.
