- Sean Whyte kicked a club-record eight field goals to lead the B.C. Lions to a 24-17 victory over the Toronto Argonauts at BMO Field, marking B.C.’s first win at the venue since 2019
- The Lions’ defence made crucial goal-line stands late in the game, stopping Argonauts quarterback Nick Arbuckle twice at the one-yard line, including on third down with just 11 seconds remaining
- Whyte finished one field goal short of the CFL record (nine) held by Edmonton’s Vincent Blanchard and has made 40-of-43 attempts (93 per cent) this season
- The victory extended B.C.’s winning streak to three straight and seventh win in their last eight games, moving them two points ahead of third-place Calgary and Saskatchewan in the West Division
- Nick Arbuckle completed 27-of-33 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns in his first start of the season, but the Argonauts’ fourth-quarter comeback fell just short
- Toronto’s four-game win streak was snapped, and the team will finish second in the East Division behind Montreal
